About Us
Emily's Café was opened in the spring of 2005, by James and Emily Matticoli, both of whom are trained culinary professionals. The couple met and married while working together for one of the Princeton area's best known catering companies. James and Emily are dedicated to delivering delicious food, both in Emily's Café and at off premise catering jobs, using the freshest seasonal ingredients to execute diverse, interesting menus.

Executive Chef/Owner James graduated from The Culinary Institute of America in 1997, and then worked at Top of the World Restaurant in Breckenridge, Colorado. He then went on to study and work in Italy for one year, spending time cooking in highly Michelin-rated restaurants in Torino and Senegalia. Following his training and experience in Italy, James worked as sous chef at Chambers Walk Café and Catering, where he spent six years before opening Emily's Café.

Emily graduated with honors from The Institute of Culinary Education in Manhattan in 2001. During school and following graduation, she worked at the highly Zagat-rated restaurant Eleven Madison Park in New York City, as well as for a well known catering company in the city. Following her New York experiences, Emily worked at Chamber's Walk Café and Catering for two years before opening her café in 2004. Emily is the fourth generation of restaurateurs in her family, following in the footsteps of her father, grandfather, and great grandfather, who owned Andres Catering, in addition to other restaurants in New York City.
